“Down” - Emily King

Think I’m late to the train, but NYC’s own Emily King put out an EP called Seven last year. It had been 4 years since her Grammy nomination in 2007 for East Side Story and her sound has definitely evolved into something she seems more comfortable with: an acoustic vibe on top of a sullen R&B beat.

You keep pulling me
Down down down down down
Lower than I’ve ever known
Oh you tease me with a smile
Then you leave me all alone

Like a drop of rain
Falling through a passing wind
You keep pulling me
Down down down down down
Can we get back up again?
